About the Department of Psychology
Established in 2019 under the School of Social Sciences, the Department of Psychology at the Central University of Punjab is committed to academic excellence and holistic student development. The department boasts a team of young and dynamic faculty members, each bringing diverse research and teaching expertise from across India.
The department offers a two-year MA program and a PhD program in Psychology. Admission to the PhD program is open to candidates with government or non-governmental fellowships.

- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50% marks {45% in case of SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL)/ PWD} from a recognized Indian or foreign University.
- Admission to all Master’s Degree Programmes shall be based on the merit of the students in Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

Instructions
All candidates who appeared in CUET-PG-2025 and wish to take admission to various Master’s programmes at the Central University of Punjab for the academic session 2025-26 must participate in the online counselling process. Each candidate can apply for up to three programmes/options during counselling.
- The link to the Online Counselling Portal is available on the university website at https://cup.edu.in.
- A non-refundable counselling fee is required for each programme: ₹1000 for UR, OBC, and EWS categories, and ₹500 for SC, ST, and PwD categories.
- Programme-wise merit lists will be prepared for all candidates who register and complete their applications on the portal. Lists of provisionally selected candidates will be displayed, and those selected must submit the admission fee within the specified schedule. Failure to pay the fee on time will result in automatic cancellation of seat allotment, and the next candidate in merit will be offered the seat.
- After the first round of counselling, vacancy positions will be displayed on the university website.
- Candidates wishing to cancel or withdraw their seat must do so through the same login ID on the Online Counselling Portal. No other mode of application is accepted for seat cancellation and fee refund.
- Admission to PG programmes is provisional and subject to physical verification of documents at the time of reporting to the concerned department.
