About the University
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi is a public university established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi through an Act of Legislature in 2007, and formally notified in July 2008. It operates as a multi-campus, unitary structure offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes, with a strong emphasis on the social sciences and humanities.
The university is deeply inspired by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s vision of social transformation through education. Guided by the principles of equality, social justice, and academic excellence, AUD is committed to bridging the gap between access to education and success in higher learning. Its mandate is not only to provide quality education but also to foster critical thinking, inclusive development, and participatory learning.

About School of Human Studies
The School of Human Studies (SHS) at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi is an exploratory and interdisciplinary academic space that reflects on the diverse meanings of being human. It focuses on both the potential of human life and the realities of historical exclusion and marginalization. SHS brings together a wide range of scholars including feminists, psychologists, psychotherapists, political scientists, social anthropologists, sociologists, philosophers, and cultural theorists. It offers five interdisciplinary programmes, including two unique Master’s degrees: MA in Gender Studies and MA in Psychology (Psychosocial Clinical Studies), both of which blend theoretical knowledge with real-world practice. The courses include internships and require students to complete a research dissertation based on their lived experiences. SHS also offers PhD programmes in Women’s and Gender Studies, Psychology, and Disability Studies, encouraging creative and practice-based research. Over the past decade, 1,262 students have earned MA degrees and 27 scholars have been awarded doctorates.

- Applicants need to have a Bachelors degree in any discipline with minimum 45% marks or equivalent grade from a recognised university (Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwBD/D-OBC (NCL)/Defence/KM).
