About the University
The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) was established under an Act of Parliament (No. 3 of 2009) and is located near Kadaganchi village in the Kalaburagi district of Karnataka. Spread across 654 acres, it is one of the 16 new Central Universities set up by the Government of India during the XI Plan period of the UGC. The primary aim of CUK is to address issues of equity and access to quality higher education in educationally backward districts where the Graduate Enrolment Ratio is below the national average of 11%. Since the commencement of academic activities in August 2009, CUK has been committed to maintaining high academic standards, promoting inclusivity in enrolment and recruitment, and emerging as a leading national institution of education and research.
The University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across six major fields: Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Management, Sciences, and Engineering. It strives to integrate teaching, training, research, innovation, and skill development to foster holistic learning. Additionally, the university is actively working towards making its campus green, energy-efficient, and environmentally sustainable.

About the Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology actively seeks the participation and collaboration of a multidisciplinary group comprising psychologists, social workers, rehabilitation professionals, social scientists, scholars, and researchers who contribute holistically to the field of behavioural sciences. Through its academic and research initiatives, the department aims to nurture various dimensions of behavioural sciences and enhance the quality of life for individuals and society at large. It equips students with the ability to understand the complexity of human behaviour by critically examining the biological, intra-psychic, interpersonal, social, political, cultural, and economic factors that shape human experiences. Both students and faculty are encouraged to engage empathetically in efforts that promote social justice and support the realization of human potential.

- Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50% marks {45% in case of SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL)/ PWD} from a recognized Indian or foreign University.
- Admission to all Master’s Degree Programmes shall be based on the merit of the students in Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
