About the University
Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang State University (JRDSU) is the world’s first and only higher education institution exclusively dedicated to students with disabilities. Established in 2001 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, it was the vision of Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Swami Rambhadracharya, a renowned Hindu spiritual leader and scholar who himself is visually impaired. It is located in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh. It was founded with a singular mission: to empower persons with disabilities through inclusive and quality higher education.

Mission
The mission of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang State University (JRDSU) is to empower persons with disabilities by offering inclusive higher education that fosters human values and knowledge. The university is committed to providing opportunities for employment, self-employment, and rehabilitation in alignment with students’ qualifications. It aims to cultivate students’ talents to meet global standards by offering an innovative and research-oriented academic environment alongside traditional education. Furthermore, JRDSU prepares its students to face future challenges through education in science and technology, enriched with cultural understanding and the highest human values.

Department of Psychology
The M.A. in Psychology course is offered by the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities, JRDSU. The Department focuses on building a sound foundation for understanding the human behavior in developmental perspective of different walks of life. The thrust areas of teaching and research are Guidance and Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Disability and Rehabilitation, Cognitive Psychology and Health Psychology. Major objectives of the Department are:
- Providing the Students with Disabilities higher education and building up their personality by means of value based quality education.
- Providing educational guidance To develop their confidence and self-esteem. To make them self dependent. Promoting Research work in Applied Areas.

Bachelors of Arts in Psychology
The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology offered by Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Handicapped University, Chitrakoot (U.P.), is a well-structured and comprehensive undergraduate program that spans six semesters.
