About the University

Brij University, Bharatpur was founded in 2012 by the Government of Rajasthan under the Brij University, Bharatpur Act, 2012, with Professor K. D. Swami serving as the inaugural Vice Chancellor (VC). The institute is overseen by the Hon’ble Governor of Rajasthan, who serves as the Chancellor. To honour Maharaja Surajmal, the university was renamed Maharaja Surajmal Brij University, Bharatpur in 2014 via the Brij University, Bharatpur (Change of Name) Act, 2014. With more than 1,70,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students studying across our 167 colleges, MSBU offers our community rich-experiences and endless possibilities to pursue interests, master skills, and develop one’s whole self.

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Maharaja Surajmal Brij University provides a well-rounded and in-depth exploration of psychological science through a structured and skill-focused curriculum. Students study Psychological Disorders, Developmental Psychology, and Statistical Methods for Psychological Research, gaining insights into mental health conditions, lifespan development, and quantitative research techniques. The course builds on this foundation with courses in Psychology of Individual Differences, Social Psychology, and Research Methodology, offering students a deeper understanding of personality traits, social behavior, and scientific inquiry in psychology. Each semester integrates practical work, allowing students to apply psychological tests and conduct data analysis for experiential learning.

    • Candidates who have completed full time B.A./B.Sc. Honors in Psychology, in regular mode; Candidates who have completed full time B.A./B.Sc. General – with a minimum of three papers in Psychology, in regular mode.
