School of Psychological and Behavioural Sciences

The School of Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at REVA University, functioning under the Faculty of Liberal Studies, is dedicated to providing quality education and training in psychology and related behavioural sciences. The school aims to develop students’ understanding of human behaviour, mental processes, and psychological well-being through a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge, research, and practical application.

It offers a comprehensive academic pathway in psychology, including the B.Sc. in Psychology (Honours and Research), a four-year undergraduate programme designed to build a strong foundation in psychological concepts and research skills; the M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology, a two-year postgraduate programme focused on advanced assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic approaches; and the Ph.D. in Psychology for students interested in research and academic careers. With experienced faculty, modern teaching methods, and emphasis on experiential learning, the school prepares students for careers in mental health, counselling, research, academia, and allied fields.

• B.Sc. Psychology (Honours & Research)

  • Duration: 4 Years (8 Semesters)
  • Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have passed 10+2 / PUC / Pre-University or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, including languages.
  • Program Focus: The programme provides a strong foundation in psychological theories, research methods, statistics, and practical applications, with integration of psychology in the era of AI.

• M.Sc. Clinical Psychology

  • Duration: 2 Years (4 Semesters)
  • Eligibility Criteria: B.A. or B.Sc. degree with a minimum of 50% marks, with Psychology as a compulsory subject at the undergraduate level.
  • Career Opportunities: Psychotherapist, Rehabilitation Psychologist, Psychometrician, Corporate Counsellor, School Psychologist, Welfare Officer, and Researcher in hospitals, NGOs, educational institutions, and organizations such as DRDO, ICMR, and ICSSR.
  • Program Focus: Advanced training in psychopathology, psychological assessment, diagnosis, psychotherapy, counselling, and research methodology.

• M.Sc. in Psychology

  • Duration: 2 Years (4 Semesters)
  • Eligibility Criteria: B.A. or B.Sc. (3-year course) with Psychology as a subject, or at least one paper in Psychology at the graduate level, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

• Ph.D. in Psychology

  • Programme Level: Doctoral research programme in Psychology.
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • Master’s degree in Psychology or a related discipline with at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Differently Abled candidates as per UGC norms).
    • Candidates with a 4-year undergraduate degree with a minimum of 70% aggregate marks are also eligible as per current regulations.
    • Foreign applicants must provide an equivalence certificate.
  • Admission Process: Selection is based on the university’s Ph.D. admission notification, entrance test, and/or interview as per UGC and university guidelines.
  • Program Focus: Advanced research training in psychological theory, methodology, and specialized areas of psychology leading to original scholarly contributions.

REVA RISE Scholarship

• What It Is: REVA RISE (REVA Initiative for Scholastic Excellence) is REVA University’s scholarship aptitude test that offers tuition fee waivers from 10% to 100% to eligible students.
• Who Can Apply: Students applying to eligible undergraduate or postgraduate programmes at REVA University, including Indian, NRI, OCI, POI, and international applicants.
• How to Apply: Register online through the official REVA University Admissions Portal while submitting your admission application.
• When to Apply: The REVA RISE test is generally conducted during April, May, and June each year, with dates announced on the university website.

Application Process

• Visit the official REVA University Admissions Portal and complete the online application form.
• Check the eligibility criteria for your chosen programme and upload the required documents.
• Appear for the entrance test and/or interview, if required for your selected programme.
• Students who wish to avail scholarships can register for the REVA RISE scholarship aptitude test during the admission process.
