About the University
Banaras Hindu University (BHU), founded in 1916 by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya with support from Dr. Annie Besant, is a prestigious central university located in Varanasi. About the Department
The Department of Psychology at BHU, established in 1949 and independent since 1962, is a leading center for psychological education and research in India. It emphasizes both experimental and applied psychology and houses 7 state-of-the-art laboratories. To meet modern organizational needs, the department offers a specialized 2-year Master’s program in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations, aiming to develop professionals who are both technically skilled and rooted in humanistic values.

Eligibility Criteria:
For Master of Science in Psychology: Bachelor of Science degree securing a minimum aggregate of 50% marks, with Psychology as a Major subject studied in all the years.
Non-Psychology: Candidates having a graduate degree in Science, Engineering & Technology and Medical Sciences without having studied Psychology at the graduate level.
There will be a common entrance test for both Psychology and Non-Psychology graduates seeking admission to M.A./M.Sc. Psychology. Candidates without a Psychology background at the undergraduate level (e.g., graduates in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Medical Sciences) must use the appropriate subject code when applying.
