Exam Pattern

Admission to MA Psychology at Jamia Millia Islamia is based on a merit list prepared from an objective (MCQ-based) entrance test .

  • Mode: Offline (Pen & Paper).
  • Total Questions: 100 MCQs.
  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes (90 minutes).
  • Marking Scheme: +1 for correct, -0.25 for incorrect answers.

Entrance Test Centres-MA Psychology

  • After the application correction deadline, candidate details (category, program, etc.) cannot be modified.
  • Candidates must select one preferred exam city while filling the online application form.
  • Available centres: Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, Bhopal, Jaipur, Dehradun, Kishanganj.
  • Delhi is automatically treated as the second preference.
  • If a particular city has 49 or fewer applicants, the exam may be shifted to Delhi or another city decided by JMI; final details will appear on the Admit Card.
  • Most remaining entrance tests are conducted in New Delhi, mainly at the JMI campus.
  • Entry is allowed only with a valid Admit Card (with self-attested colour photo) and a Government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar or equivalent).
  • Candidates should print two copies of the Admit Card, as one copy must be submitted to the invigilator.
  • No requests for change of exam centre will be accepted later.

Application Process

  • Apply online only through the official admission portal (admission.jmi.ac.in); no offline forms available.
  • Fill the application form and upload required documents carefully.
  • Application Fee: ₹700 (for Psychology – Faculty of Social Sciences).
  • Payment can be made via Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
  • Fee once paid is non-refundable (except failed transactions identified by JMI).

Documents & Admit Card

  • No documents need to be uploaded during application (except photo & signature); all original certificates will be verified at the time of admission in the Department of Psychology.
  • Admit Card will be released online (intimated via SMS/email); download it, paste a self-attested coloured passport photo, and follow all instructions.
  • Carry the printed Admit Card along with a valid Government ID on exam day; Aadhaar details will be used for verification during admission.
