About Bureau of Psychology, Uttar Pradesh

The Bureau/School of Psychology, Uttar Pradesh, Prayagraj was established in July 1947 following the recommendations of the Acharya Narendra Dev Committee (1935). It functions under the Department of Psychology and Guidance as a subordinate unit of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. The institute was created with the aim of promoting the mental, emotional, educational, and vocational well-being of children, adolescents, and adults through psychological services, guidance, counselling, training, and research activities.

The Bureau works closely with 10 regional psychology centers located in Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Meerut, Moradabad, Varanasi, Bareilly, Ayodhya, and Gorakhpur to provide psychological and counselling services across Uttar Pradesh.

Diploma in Guidance Psychology (D.G.P.) 2026–27
