About the university
The Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) is a central government university established by an Act of Parliament to promote excellence in higher education, research, and innovation. About the Department
The Department of Applied Psychology at the Central University of Tamil Nadu was established in 2017 and began its M.Sc. Applied Psychology programme in the academic year 2017–18 to meet the growing demand for knowledge generation and application in Behavioural Sciences, particularly Psychology. The department aims to provide students with a strong foundation in the scientific study of human behaviour, along with opportunities for laboratory-based and field-based learning that enhance self-awareness and understanding of others.
It emphasizes academic excellence in both teaching and research through active participation of faculty and students in knowledge creation and dissemination. The department currently offers a two-year full-time M.Sc. Applied Psychology programme with specialisations in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, and Organisational Psychology, along with a Ph.D. programme in Applied Psychology, preparing students for diverse roles in academia, research, healthcare, counselling, industry, and allied fields.

- Eligibility:Any Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks for General Category, 50% marks for EWS/OBC (Non-creamy Layer), 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD Candidates at Graduate level.

- Candidates who appeared for CUET (PG) 2026 must download their scorecard from the official NTA website:

https://cutncuet.samarth.edu.in/pg - Registration on the portal will be open from 21 May 2026 to 30 June 2026.
- Only candidates who complete online registration on the Samarth portal will be considered for admission based on merit.
- Candidates must ensure there are no errors or missing details in the online application form, as incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Upload all required certificates and documents as specified in the admission guidelines.
- If any required document is not available at the time of submission, candidates must upload a handwritten undertaking on plain paper instead.
- Candidates must complete the process before the deadline, as the university will not be responsible for delays due to network or technical issues.
