About the NFAT
The Ministry of Education, Government of India, established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier testing organization under the Society Registration Act, 1860. The NTA is responsible for conducting efficient, transparent, and internationally standardized tests to assess candidates’ knowledge, competency, and abilities for admission to leading educational institutions and for other purposes.
The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), recognized as an Institution of National Importance through the Act of 2020 (32 of 2020), is the world’s first and only university dedicated exclusively to forensic science and allied subjects. NFSU offers a wide range of academic disciplines, including Forensic Science, Cyber Security & Digital Forensics, Behavioral Sciences, Forensic Psychology, Management Studies, Police Science & Security Studies, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies, Medico-legal Studies & Law, and Doctoral Studies & Research, with more than 70 postgraduate and integrated courses.
The National Forensic Admission Test (NFAT) is the gateway for admission to various undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and PG Diploma courses at NFSU. For the upcoming academic session, NFSU has entrusted the NTA with the task of conducting the NFAT, which will be administered in a computerized test mode. This partnership ensures that the entrance examination maintains the highest standards of fairness, transparency, and efficiency for aspiring forensic science professionals.
