About the Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), established in 1950 as the Department of Experimental Psychology, is one of the oldest and most reputed psychology departments in India. Founded by Prof. V. K. Kothurkar, the department has a strong legacy of excellence in teaching and research, later expanding its focus to both pure and applied psychology.
With over 1500 postgraduates and 100+ Ph.D. scholars, the department emphasizes an eclectic and application-oriented approach aligned with Indian societal needs. Its key research areas include clinical, experimental, educational, industrial-organizational, and Indian psychology, along with specialized focus on personality research (Five-Factor Model), stress, gender issues, and mathematical psychology.

About SPPU Entrance Exam (OEE)
Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) conducts the Online Entrance Examination (OEE) for admission into various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Integrated, and Interdisciplinary programs for the academic session 2026–2027. The entrance exam is held in online mode (computer-based test) and is designed to assess candidates on subject-specific knowledge, aptitude, and analytical ability relevant to the course they are applying for.
The question paper generally consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and the exam pattern, syllabus, and duration may vary depending on the program. Candidates must first complete the online application process, after which they can appear for the entrance test as per the scheduled dates. Selection is primarily based on entrance exam performance, followed by merit lists and counselling as per university guidelines.

Important Instructions
- Candidates must carefully prepare both general aptitude and subject-specific topics.
- Negative marking applies, so avoid guesswork.
- In case of a tie, preference will be given to candidates scoring higher in Section B (subject knowledge).
- If the tie still continues, qualifying examination marks will be considered.
- Ensure timely completion of the online application form to appear for the exam.

- Admit Card (Hall Ticket) can be downloaded 5 days before the exam using your login credentials.
- The OEE will be conducted in centre-based online mode (CBT).
- Detailed exam date, time, and centre information will be announced separately.
- No separate result certificate will be issued by the university.
- Candidates must ensure they complete the application process within the deadline to be eligible.

Important Instructions

Reservation Policy (SPPU OEE 2026–27):Reservation for admission is provided as per Government of Maharashtra norms, including categories like reserved classes, Divyang (PwD), orphan, and children of defence/ex-servicemen; for specific programs like M.Sc. Virology, Central Reservation Policy applies.
Additionally, 30% seats are reserved for female candidates in UG programs, and SBC reservation is applicable as per government rules.
