About SPNIWCD (Formerly NIPCCD)

The Savitribai Phule National Institute of Women and Child Development (SPNIWCD) is a premier national-level institution dedicated to promoting the welfare, development, and empowerment of women and children in India. It functions under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India.
Earlier known as the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD), the institute has evolved over the years to expand its scope and impact in areas such as child development, gender studies, counselling, training, and research.
SPNIWCD operates through multiple regional centres across India, making its services and programs accessible to a wider population. These centres include:

About Regional Centre Lucknow
The Savitribai Phule National Institute of Women and Child Development (SPNIWCD), Regional Centre Lucknow, established in 1982, plays a vital role in strengthening training and research related to women and child development across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand. Located on a well-equipped campus at Kursi Road, Lucknow, the centre provides modern infrastructure including classrooms, a library, computer lab, hostel, and a specialized Child Guidance Centre for mental health support.
It conducts need-based training programs such as induction, orientation, skill development, and training of trainers for functionaries under key government missions like Mission Poshan, Mission Vatsalya, and Mission Shakti. Additionally, the centre undertakes research and extension activities, including counselling services for children and community-based initiatives like the Nutri-Garden project, contributing to policy development and the overall wellbeing of women and children.
About the ADCGC Programme
- The Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling (ADCGC) is launched in collaboration with Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow.
- Approved by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)
- Eligible for RCI Registration after completion
- Recognised as Certified Counsellor

Admission Criteria
Admission to the ADCGC programme is based on a two-stage selection process:
1. Written Entrance Test (75 Marks)
- The written test carries 75 marks
- Candidates must score a minimum of 33% to qualify (relaxation as per Government norms)
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
- Mode: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- No negative marking
Areas Covered:
- General and Social Awareness
- Logical Reasoning & Problem-Solving Ability
- English Language Comprehension
Important Instructions:
- Eligible candidates will be informed via email and notice board
- No separate admit card will be issued
- Candidates must carry:
- Valid photo ID proof
- Copy of confirmation email
2. Personal Interview (25 Marks)
- The interview carries 25 marks
- Conducted for candidates who qualify the written test
Purpose of Interview:
- To assess interest in counselling as a career
- To evaluate motivation and commitment
- To understand aptitude and suitability for working in child guidance and counselling
Final Selection
- Final merit is prepared based on combined marks of:
- Written Test (75)
- Interview (25)
- Selected candidates will be included in the provisional merit list

Withdrawal within 15 days of admission will result in a deduction of 10% of the tuition fee.
No refund will be provided after 15 days.
Important Instructions:
Minimum attendance of 75% in theory and 90% in fieldwork is mandatory.Admission is provisional and subject to document verification.Students cannot pursue any parallel course, and refund rules will apply as per institute norms.
Application Process
- Step 1: Visit the official website (https://www.spniwcd.wcd.gov.in/ or https://www.bbau.ac.in) or collect the application form from SPNIWCD Regional Centre, Lucknow.CLICK HERE
- Step 2: Fill the application form carefully with all required personal, educational, and contact details.
- Step 3: Pay the application fee (₹400 for SC/ST/PwD and ₹800 for others) through online transfer or at the institute’s cash counter, and keep the payment proof (UTR if paid online).
- Step 4: Attach self-attested copies of all required documents such as educational certificates, Aadhaar card, and category certificate (if applicable).
- Step 5: Submit the completed application form by post or in person at the institute before 13 April 2026 (5:30 PM).
- Step 6: Send a scanned copy of the filled application form to adcgc.rcl@gmail.com (recommended).
- Step 7: Wait for confirmation and updates regarding eligibility and entrance test through email or notice board.
Attach self-attested copies of educational certificates, Aadhaar Card, and category certificate (if applicable).
Include all other required documents as specified in the application form.
