School of Behavioral and Social Sciences (Psychology)

    • Duration: 4 years (with exit options as per NEP)
    • Eligibility:pass the 10+2 exam or an equivalent exam from a recognised board with a science stream with at least 50% mark.

    • Duration: 2 Years
    • Eligibility:For the 2-year programme, a 3-year Bachelor’s degree with at least 45% marks is required.For the 1-year programme, a 4-year Hons./Hons. with Research degree with minimum 45% marks is needed.Overall, 45% in any Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university is the minimum eligibility.

    • Duration: 1 Year (RCI APPROVED)

    • Eligibility:Bachelor’s degree (regular mode) with Psychology in all three years, or a Master’s degree in Psychology/Counselling Psychology (regular or distance) with minimum 55% aggregate marks.A relaxation to 50% marks is provided for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

    Note: The test is computer-based (MCQ format), with a duration of 90 minutes, assessing reasoning, language, awareness, and subject knowledge (for PG level).

    If Phase 1 entrance is missed, candidates get another opportunity in Phase 2 scheduled on 25th, 26th, and 27th April.
    This ensures applicants still have a chance to appear for the entrance test in the second phase.

  • #Ph.D. in Applied Psychology

    • Duration: 3 to 6 years
    • Eligibility :Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks (or equivalent) after a 3-year Bachelor’s + 2-year Master’s or 4-year Bachelor’s + 1-year Master’s (or equivalent recognized qualification).
    • Candidates with an M.Phil. (≥55%) from a recognized institution are also eligible.
    • 5% relaxation for SC/ST, OBC (NCL), EWS, Differently-Abled, and other categories as per UGC norms; M.Phil. holders (completed before Dec 2024) are exempt from the entrance test.
    • Entrance Based:The Ph.D. entrance process includes a 90-minute test (70 marks) with 50% Research Methodology (Part A) and 50% subject-specific questions (Part B), each having 35 MCQs.
    • Candidates scoring at least 50% qualify for the next stage, while UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR-JRF, GATE, and M.Phil. qualified candidates are exempt from the entrance test.
    • Shortlisted and exempted candidates are then called for a Personal Interview (30 marks), and final selection is based on test performance (where applicable) and interview.

SCHOLARSHIP: MRNAT-based scholarships like ‘Utkarsh’ and ‘Uttam’ are offered, along with merit-based scholarships based on qualifying exam scores/CGPA.
